Rich earth tones and deeply textural composition in this sculptural abstract assemblage work. the piece was inspired by the perceived inequity in law enforcement in the world im from. A major qualifier is the story of the events surrounding the criminal abduction and subsequent murder of a young man from Chicago named Emmitt during a visit to his relatives in Mississippi. 
 
The code "187" is the one used by police dispatch to indicate to law enforcement that a homocide has taken place. Often times in communities like the one I come from people refrain from calling the police. This is due to any number of reasons, perceived or actual. The "b" in the title is an abriviation for "black".
